Track rules (code of conduct) / terms and conditions ( T&C)

Liability Warning

Lisburn BMX Club ( Lisburn BMX track) is an extreme riding facility and all users face the risk of serious injury, physical and mental trauma or death whilst riding in the track.

All riders use the track strictly at their own risk and agree to these risks when taking out a membership with Lisburn BMX Club( or pay as you go)  and riding in the BMX Track.

We ask that you approach your riding with due caution and ride within your limits and the limits of your equipment at all times.

Lisburn BMX Club refuse the right of admittance Or revoke membership to any member or pass holder, whom do not follow the guidance of Lisburn BMX Club and the be T&C.

 

PLEASE ABIDE BY ALL THE CLUB RULES BELOW, IT WILL ENHANCE EVERYONE’S EXPERIENCE AT THE TRACK.

GENERAL:

  • Riders must book in online & sign on before they use the track, if  a rider is under 16 years of age their legal guardian or responsible guardian at the time must sign them on
  • All club members must have the appropriate and valid Cycling Ireland license (Insurance).
  • This facility must be used for its intended purpose only and only during official opening times.
  • Riders under 18 years must be accompanied on site by a parent or guardian at all times
  • No smoking allowed anywhere within the facility.
  • Please use bins provided or take your litter with you.
  • Always show respect to other users, foul language of any type will not be tolerated. Be mindful of our younger members.
  • Bullying will not be tolerated.
  • Respect Volunteers and coaches when attending sessions.
  • Riders or persons may be asked to leave sessions and in extreme instances be prevented from attending sessions if the code of conduct is not followed.
  • When attending races outside the club, remember you are representing the club and the above code of conduct still applies as well as Cycling Ireland Rules. Please do not bring the club into disrupt.

SAFETY:

All riders must wear the minimum safety equipment of a Full face cycle helmet meeting CE1078. We strongly recommend using upper body armour in addition to full-finger gloves and knee/shin guards to provide an increased level of protection. If you do not have the right safety equipment you cannot ride in the park.

  • Do not bring drinks, glass, sharp objects or dogs on to the track.

TRACK USE/PUMP LINE:

  • The track is intended for BMX bike use only. No Rollerblades, Scooters, Skateboards, Road bikes,  RC cars etc. as they are dangerous or will damage the tracks surface.
  • Always use the track/pump line in the correct direction only.
  • Never stop in the middle of the track.
  • Never ride in a manner that endangers other users.
  • Do not ride in a manner that will damage the tracks surface i.e. no lip tricks allowed.

BIKES:

  • Always ensure your bike is in good condition.
  • It must have a working rear brake.
  • Foot pegs, reflectors, stands etc. must be removed.
  • Riders / parents are responsible for checking the bike is in good condition for track use, if unsure please ask at the club

Events and Membership

  • Memberships – All memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Lisburn BMX Club membership and pay as you go can use the facility during all official General opening times(open track). There may be additional charges for races, training sessions and specific coaching sessions.
  • Lisburn BMX Club (hereafter The organizing) determines the date and time of the event.
  • The organizing facility has the exclusive right to cancel or postpone the event if there is a situation of force majeure or if the organizing company has a proven serious reason to cancel or postpone the event. Situations of force majeure are defined by (not limited); terrorist threats, terrorist attacks, bad weather, strikes, fire, war, government intervention, epidemics, disease of artists, failure and/ or delay of technical facilities, failure and/ or delay of transport facilities et cetera.

  • The organizing facility is in no way responsible for theft, loss and damage.
  • The organizing facility is not liable for damage/ loss of business due to delays, mechanical failure, weather conditions, and influence of nature, strikes, sickness or any other force majeure situation.

Parent Code of Conduct:

  • Parents/ guardians are not permitted on the track at any time ( unless racing/riding).
  • Parents/ guardians are responsible for their children when not on the track and parents must follow Lisburn BMX Club T&C.
  • Healthy competition means doing your best. And learning that sometimes doing your best puts you on the podium, and sometimes it doesn’t. That’s OK.
  • Healthy competition means being supportive of others. Encourage interaction! It’s  OK to make friends with other competitors and even congratulate the winner. No one likes a sore loser.
  • Give positive encouragement only. (Do NOT use profanity and please avoid negative comments.)
  • Respect ALL riders, their parents, and  race officials. No one is perfect, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t trying our best.
  • Remember, most riders are children.
  • Because we are dealing with impressionable youth, any inappropriate or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated; offenders will be asked to leave the event

Lisburn BMX Club is ran by volunteers and the slots will fluctuate depending on volunteer commitments

You will require your cycling Ireland or affiliated UCI license number to make a booking if you are a PAYG and your first time using the facility .

Please only book sessions for your household/ family – any sessions with persons outside your household/family ( mother/father/sibling) will be cancelled.

Data:  all data will be kept by Lisburn BMX Club in the event contact tracing is needed,information will be shared with relevant authorities and cycling Ireland  please ensure you use the correct email and phone number.

You have the right to request the data Lisburn BMX Club hold for you or your child and this is available upon request, by sending a Right of Access email to  compliance@lisburnbmxclub.com
