The club runs regular BMX training sessions at Our Lisburn BMX Track facility throughout the week , for riders aged 3 and over for all abilities.

We have a club development pathway and all new riders are subject to an induction on their first session and will be required to be able to undertake a number of basic tasks to ensure they are able to enjoy group coaching safely and effectively.

These induction sessions will take place on a designated flat skills area, sprint straight, mini pump line with progression to gate practice and then full laps.

Riders are split into the following groups.

  • Academy.
  • Core.
  • Fundamentals, incorporating our “Intro2BMX” sessions for new riders.

Sessions are led by the club coaching team. Lead coaches include Stevie & George.

Consideration will be made in cases of a parent & their child riding in groups with priority given to riders who meet the sessions goals. In these cases, parents with lesser skills may ride in the same group as their child for logistical reasons. Children may not ride up into their parent’s session unless they meet the goals of that session.

Once the rider has met the goals of a session, the coaching team will discuss additional development areas for a rider and how they will transition to the next

LBMX Clubs development pathway is designed to marry with the BMX Ireland Rider Progression and Assessment Program.

This BMX Ireland Program navigates the development of club riders from Level 0 which is categorised by learning basic bike skills through to Level 5 which is high level training and team selection assessment.

LBMX Club appreciate there will be kids (and adults) who will use the clubs’ facility for recreational purposes and for fun.

Those who do not wish to be part of a grading process will continue to be welcomed and encouraged by the club and its coaches thus ensuring their involvement and valued role within our club structure.

If you have any questions about the BMX Ireland Rider Progression & Assessment Program have a chat with our lead coaches.
